IVYLUX is a small British workshop that makes solid wood lights the way an engineer would. The light is designed first. Then oak, walnut, beech or iroko is shaped by hand around it. Every piece is made to order, wired and tested here in the UK, and made for one room.

Most wooden lights begin with the wood. Ours begin with the light.
The IVYLUX Team came to wood from electronics. More than 25 years in technical lighting, lighting control and product development teach you what makes a light good to live with: a colour that flatters timber and skin, dimming that feels smooth, a driver that is sized properly, a fitting an electrician is happy to install.
When we moved to the woodworking bench, we kept those rules and added one more: a light should be as beautiful switched off as it is switched on. The result is a light you can specify like a technical fitting and live with like a piece of furniture.

IIEngineered first
Six things we design before any wood is cut.
A wooden light lives or dies by what is inside it. These are worked out for every IVYLUX piece, and for every bespoke drawing, before the timber goes on the bench.
- 01LED performance
Colour rendering up to CRI 97, so oak looks like oak and food looks like food. Light colours from 2700K amber to 6500K daylight.
- 02Heat
We plan where the heat from the LED goes before we shape the wood around it, because cool LEDs are long-lived LEDs.
- 03Power
24V LED with a driver matched to the length and output of each light, so it runs within its limits.
- 04Dimming
Standard, dimmable, remote control or Alexa Wi-Fi, chosen when you order. Our lamps dim with a touch.
- 05Installation
A mounting kit comes with every ceiling light, and lights can be made for UK, EU or US electrics.
- 06Long life
LEDs rated for 50,000 hours. Spare LEDs and upgrades are sold separately, so a light can be repaired, not thrown away.

IIIThen the timber
Four solid woods, oiled by hand.
Every IVYLUX light is made from solid wood and finished with Danish oil, applied by hand, so the grain stays warm to look at and to touch. No two pieces share the same grain.
- Oak
Light honey tone with an open, visible grain.
- Walnut
Deep brown with darker streaks. Reads warm at night.
- Beech
Pale, fine and even. Suits Scandinavian rooms.
- Iroko
African teak. Golden brown that deepens with age.

From our bench to your ceiling in 4–6 weeks.
Each light is made when you order it. That is why yours can be the size, wood, light colour and control your room needs.
- Drawn
Size, light output and fixing are worked out for your light, or for your own drawing if it is bespoke.
- Cut and shaped
Solid wood is cut, joined and sanded by hand.
- Oiled
Danish oil, applied by hand, brings out the grain.
- Wired and tested
LEDs and driver are fitted, then every light is switched on and tested before it is packed.
- Packed and delivered
Packed with care and delivered in the UK (free on orders of £50 or more), with everything needed to fit it.

Every IVYLUX light is designed and made by hand in our UK workshop, one order at a time. From the first pencil line to the final test, the same small team does the work, and the same team answers your messages.
Our lights hang over kitchen islands and dining tables across the UK, and in homes in Germany, the Netherlands, the Nordics and the United States. Homeowners, hospitality projects and boat owners bring us their own drawings too.
